Strabismus means that the child’s eyes can’t be set in a straight forward position.  The eyes can be directed to the inside (crossed) or directed to the outside o it can happen that one eye is directed down or up.  One or both eyes can be affected comparing one eye with the other. Most of us see an object with both eyes at the same time. This is call normal binocular vision.  Children with strabismus have problems with binocular vision.  They can not use both eyes at the same time, because the eyes are not directed in the same direction.

Treatment: Every sight problem is different and every child needs a special treatment.  The treatment can be the use of lens, eye drops, eye patches, ocular exercises or surgery.
