This depends on the type of lens that is implanted. Currently, monofocal intraocular lenses correct one’s vision for distance and medium distance and multifocal intraocular lenses correct one’s vision for distance, intermediate, and near distances. If you choose a monofocal lens, then the use of glasses will be necessary for reading purposed. If you opt for the multifocal lens, there are scenarios in which glasses won’t be necessary.
