Diagnostic Equipment

Magellan Corneal Topographer

We are pleased to introduce the very first “plug-and-play” Corneal Topographer available. It provides a level of clinical accuracy and quality that, simply put, cannot be surpassed. And it’s so fast that the exam is over before you know it.

Key Points

• Easy & Quick Operations: Ergonomic design, bright ring projection and easy alignment reduce examination time and patient cooperation.

• Sharp Angle Ring Projector: Unlike conventional topographers, the Magellan Mapper features a unique small diameter ring projector enhancing ring quality on the cornea and avoiding artifacts.

• Unparalleled clinical accuracy in Corneal Topography: The Magellan Mapper features a streamlined 30-ring projector, dual-edge ring finder with an astounding 60 rings detecting 21,600 data points.

The Pentacam

PentacamThe Pentacam is a rotating Scheimpflug camera which captures sharp and crisp images of the anterior eye. We use this information to analyze the anterior corneal surface and the posterior crystalline capsule. The Pentacam’s highly sophisticated technology produces important benefits for the patient, including the precise measurement of the central cornea, the correction of eye movements, and an extremely short examination time.

From the OCULUS firm, it is another topographer with a system that allows us to take real-time photography of the anterior chamber of the eye. The technology also allows us to see the spherical shape of the cornea. As a direct result of this technology, our surgeons are able to maintain the natural shape of the cornea.

Bausch & Lomb's Orbscan II

OrbscanThe Orbscan is a quick and painless diagnostic test that analyzes and measures the cornea, the surface of the eye into which light rays enter. For laser vision correction or cataract surgery, this advanced diagnostic device provides superior diagnostic capabilities.

Information and insights culled from this device help us determine if you are a candidate for LASIK. With the Orbscan, our surgeons are able to analyze the shape of your cornea and any irregularities that may exist on its front and back surface.  They can also measure the thickness of your cornea, which is central to your diagnosis. If the cornea is too thin or shows the early signs of a progressive thinning called keratoconus, our surgeons might recommend PRK instead of LASIK.

We are pleased to introduce the only “plug-and-play” Corneal Topographer available. What this means in simple terms is that our clients receive a level of clinical accuracy and quality that, frankly, cannot be surpassed.

NIDEK OPD Scan:

opd scanThis equipment, from NIDEK, provides topography functions. We also use it with the Eximer Laser in personalized surgeries such as Wavefront Lasik.

Tonometer:

This instrument, by measuring the intraocular pressure of the eye, is able to detect Glaucoma, which, of course, can lead to blindness.

Pentacam

The Pentacam is a rotating Scheimpflug camera which measures Scheimpflug images of the anterior eye segment.
The Scheimpflug technique provides sharp and crisp images that include information from the anterior corneal surface to the posterior crystalline capsule.
The key advantages of the rotating imaging process are the precise measurement of the central cornea, the correction of eye movements, the easy fixation for the patients and the extremely short examination time.

Zeiss IOL Master

The IOL Master allows fast, accurate measurements of eye length and surface curvature, necessary for cataract surgery. The IOL Master is more efficient because it allows measurements to be taken with complete confidence in the accuracy of the results. Also, because the IOL Master is non-contact (nothing touches the eye itself), there is no need for anesthesia and there is no potential for spread of contamination from the IOLMaster.
