Interview with Dr. Irma Zamudio about Laser Cataract Surgery in Hola Azteca Show 7/12/2017

Interview with Dr. Irma Zamudio about
Laser Cataract Surgery in Hola Azteca Show

If your vision has become blurry, cloudy or weak, or things you see are not as bright or colorful as before, you could have developed cataracts in one or both eyes. Many people describe vision with cataracts as seeing through a car’s dirty windshield.

As the cataract slowly begins to develop, it is possible that you don’t notice any changes in your vision at the beginning. But as the cataract progresses, you start noticing that it can interfere with your daily activities.

While cataracts are one of the most common causes of vision loss, especially as we get older, they can be treated with cataract surgery. Since most cases of cataracts are due to the normal aging process, they are not reversible. There is no medicine or eye drops that can make cataracts disappear. Surgery is the only treatment.

Our community today has a lot of questions regarding cataracts and can even confuse them with another visual condition. As an ophthalmology institution in the city of Tijuana, we feel responsible to keep people informed and have a culture of visual education for the patient and the community, for both inside and outside CODET, across different media.

Dr. Irma Zamudio, ophthalmologist at CODET Vision Institute, was invited last June 30th to the morning show “Hola Azteca” by TV Azteca Baja California to talk and answer questions live about cataracts and the laser assisted surgery that we have available at CODET Vision Institute.
