Phakic IOLs have high prescriptions. At CODET Vision Institute, we have pioneered the development of Phakic Intraocular Lenses (PIOLs), which are an alternative to the previously mentioned Laser-based procedures. Phakic IOLS can be either spheric or toric. Spheric PIOLs correct myopia or hyperopia, while toric PIOLs correct astigmatism. The difference is that toric PIOLs have to be inserted in a specific angle. Dr. Arturo Chayet has vast experience implanting PIOLs for those patients who are not candidates for Laser-based procedures. Please contact us today to learn more about your PIOL options.
