CODET at the 9th World Cornea Congress: Advancing Global Eye Care

CODET Vision Institute participated in the 9th World Cornea Congress, sharing innovations in corneal surgery and ophthalmology training with global experts.

We’re proud to share that CODET Vision Institute was recently represented on the international stage at The 9th World Cornea Congress (WCC IX) in Washington, D.C. Our esteemed founder, Dr. Arturo Chayet, along with Dr. Erik Navas and several of our talented fellows, participated in a wide range of educational and scientific activities during this prestigious event.

The World Cornea Congress IX brought together over 800 ophthalmology experts from 49+ countries, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and advancement in corneal health. Over two full days, attendees engaged in symposia, courses, skill labs, and paper presentations — all focused on the latest breakthroughs in corneal treatments and surgical techniques.

Dr. Arturo Chayet Shares Expertise on Ophthalmology Training

As a pioneer in refractive and corneal surgery, Dr. Arturo Chayet was honored to participate in the course “Middle Segment Surgery: Using the Pars Plana to Solve Anterior Segment Surgical Challenges”. During this event, he presented “Hands-on Training After Residency Fellowship,” where he shared valuable insights from his decades of experience training future ophthalmologists at CODET. Dr. Chayet emphasized the critical importance of real-world, post-residency surgical training in developing confident, highly skilled eye surgeons — a commitment to excellence that continues to benefit every patient he serves.

Dr. Erik Navas Presents Research on Glycerol-Preserved Corneas

Dr. Erik Navas contributed to the scientific dialogue by presenting a poster on Glycerol-Preserved Corneas for CAIRS Surgery (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments). His research addressed critical topics including tissue safety, legal frameworks, availability, and complication risks associated with using glycerol-preserved corneas — an evolving solution in treating conditions like keratoconus.
