Dr. Paula González wins Best Poster in Keratorefractive Category at ASCRS 2025
CODET’s team presented research at ASCRS 2025, where Dr. Paula González won Best Poster in Keratorefractive Category.
Earlier this month, the expert team from CODET Vision Institute had the honor of participating in the 2025 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Annual Meeting, one of the most prestigious ophthalmology conventions in the world. Held in Los Angeles, California, this event brings together the top minds in eye care to share research, present clinical advancements, and collaborate on the future of vision correction and cataract surgery.

Our presence at ASCRS 2025 reflects our ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in ophthalmology. Our doctors and fellows attended cutting-edge lectures, contributed to important academic discussions, and showcased original research through posters and scientific papers. These activities not only highlight our dedication to excellence in eye care but also help us bring the latest global advances directly to our patients in Mexico and beyond.
Award-Winning Research: Dr. Paula Gonzales Earns Top Honors
We’re especially proud to share that Dr. Paula González, our Anterior Segment Fellow, was awarded Best Poster in the Keratorefractive Surgery category. Her poster, titled “Corneal Biomechanics after Femtosecond Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis and a New Refractive Corneal Lenticule Extraction,” presented breakthrough findings on how the cornea responds to two modern laser vision correction procedures. The study evaluated the biomechanical integrity of the cornea in vivo, providing insights that can help improve patient outcomes and guide customized refractive surgery planning.
This recognition is a testament not only to Dr. González’ hard work and dedication but also to CODET Vision Institute’s ongoing focus on scientific research and excellence in patient care.

Collaborative Contributions from CODET’s Visionary Team
Other members of our distinguished medical team also participated actively in the ASCRS 2025 program. Dr. Arturo Chayet, Founder and Medical Director of CODET, and Dr. Erik Navas, Co-Director of the Cornea Service, alongside their talented fellows, were involved in the submission of multiple papers and posters. These contributions covered a wide range of topics in refractive and cataract surgery, demonstrating the depth of knowledge and leadership that defines our institute.

Why It Matters to Our Patients
Our participation in international conventions like ASCRS is not just about academic prestige—it’s about ensuring our patients receive the best, most up-to-date care possible. Every lecture attended and every study presented represents a step toward improving our treatments and expanding our knowledge base.
We are immensely proud of our team’s accomplishments at ASCRS 2025, and we remain dedicated to bringing the latest advancements in vision correction and eye surgery to our patients every day.
