Dr. Andrea Montero is a highly trained ophthalmologist with extensive surgical experience and a strong academic background. She earned her medical degree from the University of Guadalajara and completed her Ophthalmology residency at the renowned “Fray Antonio Alcalde” Civil Hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico.
She pursued two advanced subspecialty fellowships at CODET Vision Institute. Her first fellowship, under the guidance of Dr. Arturo Chayet, focused on Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery, where she refined her skills in Cataract and LASIK procedures, achieving outstanding surgical outcomes.
Her second fellowship specialized in Glaucoma, where she trained in both medical and surgical management of the disease, including topical treatments, laser therapy, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), traditional techniques, and the use of valve implants.
Certified by the Mexican Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Montero is committed to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of evolving treatments. Her dedication to research was recognized when she received the “Best Paper of Session” at the 2022 ASCRS Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
