Curriculum & Activities
- Train for and gain responsibilities in:
- Fundación CODET (CODET’s Foundation clinic, non-profit patient care)
- CODET Vision Institute
- Assigned Surgeries
- Obtain first responder experience with medical phone calls and private emergency management
- Education in the detection and management of all Anterior Segment pathologies
- Training in the performance and interpretation of all diagnostic studies of the cornea
- Attendance and active participation in multidisciplinary activities
- Preparation, attendance, and active participation in the academic sessions of the Department of Anterior Segment and other services of the institution
- Attendance and active participation in the Virtual General Monthly Academic Sessions with invited professors from all over the world
- Preparation and presentation of academic cases
- Possibility of authoring/co-authoring publications
- Participation in research protocols
- Active participation in public and private detection campaigns at CODET’s private practice, at Fundación CODET, and at our mobile unit
- Study and follow the standard operating procedures of CODET Vision Institute

Requirements
- Updated Curriculum Vitae, including the number of cataract surgeries performed to date.
- Eligibility to become a member of the Mexican Board of Ophthalmology (Consejo Mexicano de Oftalmología).
- Formal letter of intent to apply for the Fellowship at CODET Vision Institute.
- ENARM exam results.
- Two letters of recommendation from ophthalmologist physicians.
- One letter of recommendation from the Head of Education/Training.
- Copy of the Medical Doctor (MD) degree.
- Copy of the Ophthalmology specialty degree.
- Copy of the professional license (Cédula Profesional) as a Medical Doctor.
- Physicians who completed studies abroad must complete the revalidation process of their university and ophthalmology specialty degrees with the Mexican authorities and obtain their professional license (Cédula Profesional).
***Foreign nationals (non-Mexican citizenship) must apply for their immigration permit at the Mexican consulate in their country or country of residence.
