PanOptix® IOL: State-of-the-Art Technology at CODET

There continues to be breakthrough innovations in IOLs and the AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® Lens by ALCON Laboratories is no exception, allowing patients to see at different distances. The IOL was implanted for the first time at CODET Vision Institute in May 2016, being one of the first centers in Mexico that performed this operation.

CODET Vision Institute’s mission is to deliver the best visual results worldwide, which is why it is and will always be necessary to be ahead of the curve of all the technological breakthroughs and innovations that benefit our patients. Every research paper, symposium, conference, convention, diagnosis, and clinical trial is performed in order to make the patient’s experience the most successful as possible and provide their condition the most efficient and adequate solutions.

There continues to be breakthrough innovations in IOLs and the AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® Lens by ALCON Laboratories is no exception, allowing patients to see at different distances. The PanOptix® IOLs have the ENLIGHTEN technology that optimizes the amount of light that gets to the retina, which creates a better quality of vision in different environmental light conditions, and the power on the lens allows vision to have a more natural feel in the different ranges of visual distance. These are some of the unique characteristics that makes the IOL different and more efficient when treating cataracts, presbyopia (near vision), and other conditions.

Last October 4th, the PanOptix 1K Symposium took place in Camino Real Polanco Hotel in Mexico City, where Dr. Arturo Chayet participated as part of a panel of experts that have used this technology. Dr Chayet, who has been one of the main surgeons who has implanted this technology in Mexico and America, shared his clinical experience since he performed the first implant in 2016. Since then, there have been more than 350 very successful implants of both PanOptix® and PanOptix® Toric at CODET.

One of CODET Vision Institute’s main goals is the use of technologies and breakthroughs not only to solve conditions that affect our patients, but also to offer a total visual correction, where the patient has the best visual result possible. The use of these medical developments such as PanOptix® is another step in our commitment to make the process of visual rehabilitation be the closest it can be to a natural eyesight for patients.
