What to expect after eyelid surgery?

Whether for cosmetic or functional/reconstructive reasons, blepharoplasty is an effective solution to correct problems such as droopy or malpositioned eyelids that affect vision.

Dr. Martín Guzmán, Ophthalmologist Specialist in Eyelid Surgery, Orbit, and tear ducts at CODET Vision Institute, shares this information in a video about the steps following blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery.

Whether for cosmetic or functional/reconstructive reasons, blepharoplasty is an effective solution to correct problems such as droopy or malpositioned eyelids that affect vision.

In the video, the doctor explains that after this procedure, the patient should rest for 7 to 10 days, and bruising may occur for 2 to 3 weeks. Additionally, he advises against bending over, lifting heavy objects, sleeping face down, and exercising during this recovery period.

It is normal to experience sensations such as numbness, tingling, itching, or tightness in the area after surgery, the doctor also assures that the final results will be visible between 2 to 3 months after the procedure.
