The meeting brought together over 15 internationally renowned professors and leading national experts in ophthalmology. Alongside industry innovators, they created an unparalleled academic and professional experience.

Dr. Paula González Palomo Shares Research in Refractive Surgery
We are proud to announce that Dr. Paula González Palomo, Cornea Fellow at CODET, contributed to the scientific program with:
- A lecture in the Refractive Surgery category: “Corneal Biomechanics after Femtosecond Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and a New Refractive Corneal Lenticule Extraction.”
- An e-poster presentation: “Tenon’s Rotational Flaps for Corneal and Scleral Lysis After Pterygium Surgery.”
These contributions highlight the dedication of our fellows and mentors to advancing the field of ophthalmology and improving patient outcomes.

Along with Dr. González, Dr. Irma Zamudio also attended, gaining valuable insights from international experts and strengthening collaborations that directly benefit our patients.
During the event, both doctors had the honor of meeting Dr. Harminder Dua, President and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Nottingham, who in 2013 discovered the sixth layer of the cornea—now known as Dua’s Layer. This memorable encounter underscored CODET’s presence among the most recognized leaders in ophthalmology.

Why These Contributions Matter for Our Patients
At CODET Vision Institute, we believe that sharing knowledge and learning from global leaders ensures our patients receive the most advanced and effective treatments. By participating in international forums like the Cancún congress, our doctors continue to refine techniques in refractive surgery, pterygium treatment, and corneal health—delivering safer, more innovative care for patients in Tijuana and beyond.
