In these times of Easter and Spring Break, it always helps to let go a little bit, relax, enjoy and have fun with friends and family. Luckily, the city of Tijuana in Baja California offers plenty of options for those who enjoy going for walks, entertainment, and good food.

The most interesting thing about Tijuana will always be its combination of the traditional and the modern, of the urban and the past, mixture and experimentation lives and resounds on the streets of this city for everyone who likes what’s new, different and the effort of citizens who have created a culinary and cultural renaissance in the tijuanense scene.

For those who enjoy wine and nature, Valle de Guadalupe is one of the most spectacular places in terms of landscapes, views, food and variety. Dozens and dozens of wine houses are open for all lovers of life and for those who enjoy spending afternoons and nights with a great drink. On the other hand, craft beer has been in full swing between connoisseurs and tasters, which is why places such as Cervecería Insurgente, Mamut Brewery Co. and BCB Tasting Room offer the best craft drinks in the Baja California region.

Between the most distinguished tijuanense discoveries and inventions, the city’s culinary renaissance shows up. Diverse tacos, Asiatic mixtures, burgers and movies, vegetarian options, and food trucks are a small part of this food rebirth that is happening within the city. Known as Baja Med, Tijuana food combines everything in a delicious creation of Mexican, Mediterranean and Asiatic, unique in the world.

The culinary experience, that is grown locally and is cooked and served in Tijuana, can also be a part of your Holy Week since every restaurant offers its own and unique marvel. Visiting every restaurant turns into an adventure of search and discovery. Telefónica Gastro Park, Cine Tonalá (where you can also watch good quality films), Insurgente Tap Room, La Querencia, Misión 19, La Corriente Cevicheria Nais are some of the available possibilities, open to every taste and every person.

For those who enjoy cultural, artistic and social events, Tijuana also expresses itself through its Culture Center (CECUT), the Ball, which includes all sorts of painting, sculpture and photography exhibitions, theatre plays, IMAX screen and concerts available to all ages. The Interactive Museum, El Trompo, also offers exhibitions focused in interactions between science and games. Meanwhile, Pasaje Rodríguez, La Caja Galería, Object and Casa Duhagón offer tijuanenses the opportunity to show their artistic, literary, plastic and musical works in an effort to give an aesthetic identity to citizens and express their sensibilities.

For those who enjoy group activities, they can always visit the great number of bars, clubs, and nightclubs in Calle Sexta (6th Street), as well as the touristic zone of Avenida Revolución. In both extremes of the city, one can also have fun in Parque Morelos, a big park space full of attractions, carnivals, sports and family activities, or in Playas de Tijuana, where one can enjoy the cultural scene, seafood and beach events, as well as the sun and the freshness of the sea.

Finally, if for any reason you would like to use your days off to finish pending business such as a checkup or a medical visit, Tijuana’s medical tourism offers foreigners a clinical quality experience at a good price.
