CODET in Tijuana launches CLEAR; Remaining committed to being at the Forefront of State-of-the-Art Ophthalmic Procedures

CODET Vision Institute organized a press conference to launch CLEAR, the cutting edge procedure that corrects myopia and astigmatism.

On Tuesday, August 27th, a press conference was held at CODET Vision Institute to present the new procedure to treat myopia and astigmatism: CLEAR. During the event, the benefits and most important details of this innovative surgery were presented, with the presence of Dr. Arturo Chayet (Founder and Medical Director of CODET), Dr. Erik Navas (Co-Director of the Cornea Service) and our CEO, Daniel Chayet.

The press conference broadly discussed how the CLEAR procedure works, its benefits, and who would be the ideal candidates to receive the surgery. In addition, CODET was joined by a special participant, Jan Hillebrand, Vice President of International Sales at Ziemer, the medical device manufacturer with which CODET collaborated in the development of this procedure.

It was explained that, due to the characteristics of CLEAR, it is an excellent option for people with myopia who lead very active daily lives or engage in intense activities, such as athletes, boxers, football players, and even high-impact professionals like firefighters or police officers.

“It is an excellent option for patients with dry eyes or active lifestyles, such as those involved in contact sports,” mentioned Dr. Erik Navas.

This procedure was made possible thanks to research studies conducted by specialists at CODET Vision Institute and in collaboration with the Swiss ophthalmic laboratory Ziemer.

The arrival of CLEAR will not only benefit patients who choose the procedure but also boost the local economy through medical tourism, as patients from around the world, particularly from the United States and Mexico, are expected.

“The influx of interested patients will boost the local economy,” emphasized Daniel Chayet, CEO of CODET Vision Institute.

To report on the growing innovation in the ophthalmic field and in our institution, the Tijuana press was invited. In addition, the media participated in a question and answer session.
