Featuring guest speaker Asim Ali, M.D., Ophthalmologist-in-Chief of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

As a world-class full-service ophthalmology center CODET Vision Institute is also a world-renowned teaching institution, committed to sharing our knowledge with the ophthalmology community.

As part of our commitment, we organize monthly learning sessions for ophthalmologists, known as CODET Vision Institute Monthly Academic Sessions. These sessions allow ophthalmologists from all over the world to meet virtually in a live webinar to discuss topics of interest in the field, including surgical experiences, clinical cases, and topical discussions.

Our last session was held on January 27th, 2021. Coordinated by Dr. Adriana Valdés, Chief of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus department, we invited as a guest speaker Asim Ali, M.D., Ophthalmologist-in-Chief of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, discussed an Update on Management of Cataract and Ectopia Lentis in Children, and went over some of the newest questions and controversies related to this topic.

CODET Vision Institute’s Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Fellow, Mariana Tabares Montero, M.D., also presented at this academic session. Her presentation included two very interesting clinical cases related to Doctor Ali’s lecture.
